5.0 out of 5 stars Rowena Through the Wall: What a Ride! Aug 7 2011
By Catherine Astolfo TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
A Review of Rowena Through The Wall

Rowena is the most interesting, unique fictional character to come along since Lisbeth Salander. She is smart, witty, raunchy and down-to-earth. Even Rowena's beauty is lusty and large. The reader goes along for the ride, laughing and intrigued. When Rowena realizes her strange experiences are not dreams but, in fact, time travel, the excitement ramps up. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next and how she would handle the situation. My only disappointment was that the book ended. Now I can't wait for Book Two!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rowena's Escape Aug 28 2011
Format:Paperback
Well, what an epic book filled with fun and sex, with dark magic and killing and just a dash of chivalry! I am told that this is a spoof but I cannot accept that. There's too much careful plotting and brilliant writing to be a spoof.

Rowena finds a way out of her Scottsdale, Arizona life and into not-so-much an early Arthurian epoch but more of an alternate world which branched off from ours some time after the Roman era. It has been cursed and Rowena is the only woman - soon to be followed by a friend - who is fertile. It can easily be imagined what a prize she is for the Dukes and princes and Kings who desperately need to produce heirs. I used to think that men were like me: full of tender loving care for their women folk while the women were eager to jump into bed and damn the finesse - possibly, I'm slightly mistaken about this but, either way, there is a great deal of bedding that will leave no reader in doubt as to what goes on in this society.

Rowena finds that her mother came from this land and when she brings a photograph of herself and her mother to show her actual grandfather - well, it brought tears to my eyes as well as to Grandfather's.

This book is one of the most enjoyable fantasy works I've read in a long time. And it took quite a long time, every hour was a pleasure.

Thank you Melodie. Was Rowena just a teeny bit autobiographical?
