Product Description

From Amazon.com

This mostly live set features Zappa performing with the popular Mothers of Invention line-up of the early 70's--including jazz-funk meister George Duke, Napolean Murphy Brock on saxophone, and Ruth Underwood on percussion. Highlights include the souped-up funk of "Pygmy Twylyte," burning renditions of favorites "Penguin in Bondage" and "More Trouble Every Day," and the hilarious monster movie tribute "Cheepnis." Duke steals the show on several tracks, and Zappa's guitar work and "master of ceremonies" showmanship is in top form. --Andrew Boscardin

Incontournable. --Philippe Robert

This CD is as good as everyone here says it is - but be warned! In the days of vinyl, when this was a 2 LP set, the last song on each side FADED OUT! You're jamming along with an incendiary More Trouble Every Day and then it JUST FADES OUT! What a crime! Since this is a single CD I doubt it was fixed for the digital age. Where's the master tapes for this? This CD needs serious expansion and remastering. The tapes have to exist somewhere. C'mon, get it together and give us the FULL cuts!

5.0 out of 5 stars if you like apostrophe and overnite sensation, Nov 7 2003

then you'll like this. my own case was that i first listened to Ap and OS and then grabbed other albums like we're only in it for the money, hot rats, sheik yerbouti etc, but was disappointed. yeah sure these albums might have funny lyrics, guitar solos, weird music etc but still is not as musically enjoyable as the above two.

but R&E is much more accessible and in the vein of Ap and OS.
Likewise with one size fits all.
