Although the Black Keys's back catalog might encompass some forms of obscurity, Rubber Factory can be argued to be their first run in with "critical" success. And rightly so, because it seemed as though it was the first step forward to becoming the blues juggernauts they are today. The album has a really nice sense of classic blues, Dan Auerbach really doesn't hold anything back and delivers some painfully awesome vocals. This album also has much more hooky song writting then the last two: Surely 10 AM Automatic, Girl Is On My Mind, Keep Me, Stack Shot Billy, and Till I Get My Way will be stuck in your heads for weeks! Rubber Factory is a terrific foreshadowing for what came next!
