5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely surprise!, Mar 10 2006
By A Customer
My 6 year old daughter chose this book at her school's bookfair last Fall. The text was slightly too advanced for a little girl beginning grade one (despite the fact that her reading skills are advanced) but it was a wonderful way to introduce her to the beauty of chapter books. We read it together, in one sitting, despite my intention to stagger the reading. She was so enthralled with the unfolding story that I just couldn't stop! When we reached the end of the book, we were surprise to find out that it was the first of a serie of 7 books, one for each colour of the rainbow! We have now read about all but the last Rainbow Fairy, Heather, and each book has had the same sweet tone and has captured and maintained my daughter's interest and attention. My daughter can now read the books for herself but I want to find out how the story ends so I'll be reading Heather to her! I highly recommend the serie!

It was a surprising book. I liked all the girls. I read about Rachel that she could fly from Ruby's magic. I wished that there were fairies so the fairies could let me fly. That Jack Frost cast a spell on the fairies. This made me read more in the book. I didn't like when Jack frost cast a spell because he was mean to the fairies. The fairies were so scared stiff because they didn't want to get in Jack Frost's way. Girls who like adventures will like this book. The fairies were pretty neat.
