Burl Ives, claymation, and many other Misfits

Play the music, close your eyes, and remember back when you were a little kid listening to Burl Ives sing, "Silver and Gold." Well, all the music from that children's special is on this. However, it is important to remember that this is a soundtrack more than it is a Christmas CD. So you might be enjoying the first several tracks, and then the next several tracks may seem a little boring to you (if you don't know what's coming). So, just keep that in mind. If movie soundtracks aren't your thing (or your child's thing), then you may do better to find one of the Burl Ives Christmas compilation CDs or something else like that. But I think for most, this CD will not be a disappointment.

As a 37 year old, I can remember every Christmas season and how it was not complete without watching "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". I love this CD and hoped that one day it would be released. I will always have a warm spot in my heart for these songs, Rudolph, Sam The Snowman and those pitiful misfit toys (who wouldn't love them?). I play this CD year round, because it warms the heart and reminds me of a different time that was simple and innocent. My favorites are "There's Always Tomorrow", "Silver And Gold", "The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year" and last but not least, "Holly Jolly Christmas". God bless Burl Ives and his soothing voice. Rudolph rules!!!!!!
An OK CD

As a music CD, this is merely OK. The trouble isn't with the music per se, but rather with the fact that it's a soundtrack. Without the video to go with the music, the CD just lacks a lot of associated memories. I highly recommend that people buy the video itself instead of just the music CD: it'll be much more rewarding.
Anyway, of the 19 tracks on this CD, I've rated seven of them as Good and the remaining 12 as merely OK (I use Media Player's five star rating system where two stars (not three stars) rate as OK). My individual track ratings are:
