3.0 out of 5 stars interesting concept, suffering from too many unseasond writers April 6 2013
By J. G. Chacon Monarrez - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
There are several jewels in this book, authors that really understand the concept of a short story, under a defined parameter. The rest are what I would call just "aspiring". In all, worth the money I paid for it, good for several hours of entertaining, but nothing that will get you reading it again two years from now.

Nothing else to read? Buy it, just do not expect something awesome

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic fantasy Nov 11 2007
By Jacqueline Seewald - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
The concept of ruins hearkens back to the Romantic movement of the early nineteenth century. There is certainly some of the romantic and the exotic in this marvelous anthology. Beautifully illustrated cover art draws us into a volume of great variety and diversity with well-written short stories.
We visit the ruins of Meso-America, ancient Greece, Egypt, even legendary Atlantis. Compelling tales of science fiction, fantasy and horror, suited to a general audience, are found in this fascinating volume. I highly recommend it for an enjoyable reading experience.
