New and likeable, Jan 31 2001

Probably the record with the most uncommon package and craziest name ever. Otherwise, it's "business as usual", a mixture of pop and punk with witty lyrics. The amount of 19 songs is even above average. "Wie es geht" and "Manchmal haben Frauen..." are Ärzte songs as we know and like them, "Ein Sommer nur für mich" is a statement against neo nazism in Germany, while "Leichenhalle" first reminds of bands like the Sisters of Mercy, but at the end transforms into a metal version the "Smurf song" - very funny. The shortest track is the 30-second "Yoko Ono" - listen and you won't have any questions. To sum up, I would say: If you liked "13", buy "Runter mit den Spendierhosen, Unsichtbarer!". You won't be sorry.

Their album "13" is my favorite and their best ever! So I thought during the last two years... and I was waiting (with expectancy) for the release of their new album "Runter mit den Spendierhosen, Unsichtbarer!"(RMDSU)! The CD is packed up in a light blue cover made of plush: 5 stars for this idea. And the music? Varied and great songs and music, but not realy what I expected from "the best band of the world": the music is too soft!!! And so "13" is still their best!

Okay, so maybe calling it the best cd ever is a little extreme.
I used to have a ICQ pal in DE that would tell me how great Die Ärzte music was, but back then mp3's were barely coming out. my buddy sent me a compilation of a few of his favorite German songs, and I was hooked with drei tage bart and Schrei nach Liebe.
Then, he mails me this gem. I fell in love with it's hilarious lyrics and sometimes surprising change in style, from mondo bondage to ein sommer nur für mich. I refused to play this cd in my car until i got my drivers license, and drove home proudly blaring it. I would recommend this to anyone interested in hearing REAL German rock, and not Rammstein.
