Every wish has a price. Lucky girls., July 29 2011

Stayed up all night to read this. You will need to read the first book in the series to follow this one. I'm not going to give anything away as to the storyline but to say that every wish that comes true has a price. And what an interesting 'price' this is. We are introduced to Jayne, an engaging young woman who will have an enormous impact on Les and Mo and their relationship. Seems as though the 'Chosen Tradition' has a rare anomoly that occurs every two hundred years or so. Waiting impatiently for the next book in the series to find out what happens. Love the cover art. It portrays the protagonists very well.

More thought provoking yet very interesting..., April 2 2012

Rymellan 2: Shattered Lives, written by Sarah Ettrich is the sequel to Rymellan 1: Disobedience Means Death.
In this book, the characters Mo and Lesley return. They are now over 25 and still have not received their Chosen papers. Chosen papers are papers that state who they get Joined or rather married too. They haven't talked to each other for the past two years but they become reunited the day they get sent their papers.
To everyone's delight, Mo and Lesley are each others chosens. However, things get complicated really fast. They find out they have a 3rd Chosen and are now part of a Triad. Triads are rare on Rymell and they only happen for same-oriented people. The last known Triad on Rymell had happened over 200 years prior.
The interesting thing about the triad is that the 3rd member is Jayne Adams. Jayne's parents, 13 years ago, were sentenced to death for committing a Chosen violation, in this case adultery. Unfortunately, since then Jayne was treated like an outcast due to the sins of her parents in the past.
No one is thrilled with the Triad but only a handful of people try to accept it. Many other Rymellans try to force Lesley and Mo to exercise a certain article that will allow them to execute one member of the triad. The characters are easy to relate to, and I can especially relate to Jayne but I hope the triad works out. I am also strict into monogamy so that says a lot that I'm worrying about fictional characters and the well being of a Triad.
Needless to say I'm hooked on this story. There is a surprise as well, but you should read it. The article of execution is still there and I anxiously await the 3rd book.
I rate Rymellan 2: Shattered Lives a 10 out of 10.

What will Mo and Lesley get up to next? This planet is frightening and fascinating from the inside perspective of this couple and their friends, family and enemies.
