It's okay. I'd probably get more from finding a wall to kick the ball to. If you have no wall anywhere because you live in the middle of desert, then get this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Last practice option Oct. 4 2010

Got this soccer trainer last month and tried it immediately. It really does save you a lot of time going after your ball, affords you more ball-feet contact, and allows you to kick as hard as you can without worrying where it will go, which are all very good. I got it for my my 8 year old daughter, but she lost interest after a short while, though. Its major drawback is that you almost cannot avoid stepping or tripping on the elastic cord everytime you plant your foot beside the ball when positioning for a kick. Its because the cord is tied to your waist and must lie before you when taking your kick. To avoid this, I find myself holding the cord up in front of me, then releasing it as I hit the ball. A little awkward. I ended up hanging the cord to the cross bar of a goal, some distance from the posts, and it worked fine for me. Its a good set-up for juggling practice, too. Just find something high enough to hang the cord to, with sufficient space in front, so you dont have to worry about anything else other than kicking the ball. I find this contraption useful really as a last option, when you dont have anyone to kick the ball back to you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids Love it Nov. 12 2010

I looked at other products with the chord attached and this is nice because the kids swap the ball with different sizes - a size 3 for younger one and 4 for older.... for my aspiring goalkeeper its perfect for him to practice Drop kicks and goalkicks- actually ideal for that....

Its part of their soccer bags and they use it a lot to stretch their long kicks--

5.0 out of 5 stars Good item Jan. 1 2013

Works well, especially for younger players practicing defense. The elastic band stretches out relatively fast and gets tangled around feet, etc. but it is still a great training tool - especially for those who have no one to practice with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great trainer for kids! Oct. 25 2012

Our kids love this trainer. You can use the trainer around your waist or put on a dog stake (we purchased one at Target for $4). It definitely improved their game. My only recommendation would be to purchase a ball and keep it in the trainer. Our kids each wanted to use their favorite balls and the velcro wore out quickly.
