Unique Shape for Fast Opening and Easy Handling Sharp, Dependable Steel Blade and Stout Steel Liners
Thanks to a 3.8-inch straight-edge blade with a wide body, this SOGzilla opens to full length of 8.54 inches, and it makes quick work of routine cutting applications. Crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, its blade delivers a combination of strength and value, along with the ability to take a fine edge, and the black TiNi finish on this blade offers improved durability along with anti-reflective good looks.
In addition, the knife's steel liners make for a stout overall construction that can stand up to tough use wherever your daily life takes you--whether that means up mountains, across deserts, or to the office.
Tough, Lightweight Zytel Handle and Reversible Belt Clip
Despite its big-bodied steel blade and sturdy steel liners, this large SOGzilla knife weighs in at just 4.8 ounces, thanks to a handle crafted from tough, glass-reinforced Zytel--a compound that's lightweight, abrasion resistant, and impact resistant. This handle is textured to provide a sure grip for safe, accurate cuts, and it is shaped to sit comfortably in both your right hand and your left hand.
The knife also includes SOG's patented low-carry clip, which allows the folded knife to ride securely and unobtrusively in your pocket when not in use. This clip is reversible, which means it can be positioned on whichever side of the knife is most convenient for you.
The SOG SP-23 Large SOGzilla Folding Knife with Black TiNi Finish is backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against defects in manufacturing and materials.

Strong, lightweight, easy-opening knife that is full-sized but still slim. Why buy this instead of a Spyderco Cara Cara, etc.? Because this has a deep-carry pocket clip and optional Ti-Ni coated blade/clip that the others don't. I also find this SOG more comfortable for IWB carry. If those things don't matter to you, then there are Spyderco knives that are virtually identical. Both company's products can be opened with a hard "flick" and without touching blade.Unfortunately, I had to send first knife back for a replacement because the Ti-Ni coating wasn't properly appled. The Ti-Ni coating on the replacement knife seems to be excellent, however. Stuff happens. If you need the knife to "disappear" when in your pocket or waistband, the deep carry/Ti-Ni clip is still the way to go.

My second SOGzilla!,

This would be my second sogzilla, I first went out and got the small with the polished blade, I used it and the knife works very well it keeps sharp and its sturdy. I was buying some other stuff and came across the large TiNi sogzilla and I liked the first one so much that I had to get it. I really like this knife, it is strong, very thin, not too heavy, good pocket clip and I can flick it open very fast. I prefer liner lock and lock back knives, in my opinion there are less things that can go wrong with the knife. The price is good for the quality of the knife, I would give it 5 stars but I can't due to the made in china. I will advise that for EDC the smaller version wont scare people away. Still looking maybe at the serrated version and the all stainless that might be joining my small knife collection.

Ok, it is made in China.. we have to learn to live with it. I have decide to buy SOG after being disappointed in Ka-Bar ( read here Ka-Bar Warthog Folder II, Black G-10 Handle, Black Blade, Plain) I needed working EDC knife. Since I have SOG Powerlock, by far the best multitool, with one drawback - small knife; I need to have bigger sturdier blade. So i went for SOG as knife. There is only one thing that I don't like about it and that is picture and description that is misleading: knife looks a little more straight than it is, in fact it is more crescent shapen when open. Nothing wrong with it but it wasn't what I expected.Other stuff that bug me are only my personal preference and not considered when rating it: does not sit in pocket as good as other knives, pocktet clip, albeit cool when goes down deep in pocket, is hard to take knife out of pocket, why is there cut in the loop? All in all, I recommend this knife with all my heart but will it be right EDC hard working tool, remains to be seen. I will update! Thank you SOG! |
