Chrissy remains true to her staunch midwestern morals and loses her musi cian boyfriend, who had other plans. Then her ex-boyfriend, Ben, shows up and follows her like a puppy, hoping to repair their relationship. He's hurt, she's changed, the romance is kaput. But on the very last page, Ben's kiss produces goosebumps and they're back on again, in an abrupt ending that leaves an opening for the next book in the series. In Tug of War, cousins Chrissy and Caroline are off to sum mer camp as counselors. As is usual in this series, the action clips along at a furious pace: a skunk in their cabin, armed combat between the two girls over a handsome lifeguard, a night lost in the mountains. Beautiful Elizabeth has designs also. ``She look just like a tiger who had sighted a tethered kid.'' And the fight is on. Funny and fast moving.
