I only recently stumbled upon this book, so I can't compare it to its previous incarnation. This book is a pleasure to read. It is well researched and includes a wide variety of quotes from literature and science alike. While providing the most coherent "Land Ethic" I've read (better than Wendell Berry and Leopold), it also provides a basic scientific primer for the natural processes of the world.You will learn from this book, how to live in this world and why you should. But as importantly, it will also provide you a glimpse into other sources to learn more.
