A definitive guide to saddlery and tack will save you money!, May 15 2000

This review is from: Saddlery (Paperback)
Ever wonder why some people use the equipment they do when riding their horses? Why they use a certain bit, certain martingale, saddle type? Although imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, your horse may not need the latest "in" piece of tack.
This book is a wonderful and interesting read, as well as a great reference for the English rider. Each chapter is organized by equipment type. A brief history of the why and how it is used, differences in features and types help the horseman choose a piece of equipment with purpose, not just because it is the current fad.
The more you read and learn, they more you realize how much money you'll save! By understanding the how and why of the equipment, you'll be less likely to make purchasing mistakes. And your horse will thank you for not using an unnecessary, or even detrimental piece of equipment.
My copy is well worn from reference. If I lost it, I'd replace it in a heartbeat.
