The best album of 2008

What can I say? This album is perfect. It's more mainstream than his other albums, but I think it's Jovanotti best second album after Buon Sangue. "Safari", "Temporale", "Dove Ho Visto Te", "Fango" and "Punto" are the highlights of the album. It has also been chosen as the best italian album of the decade and I think it totally deserves it.
"Sarafi" is upbeat and catchy without being one of those songs of which you get tired easily. "Temporale" is an updated version of Jovanotti's early rapping albums. The bandoneón and the lyrics of "Dove Ho Visto Te" make it the most romantic song I think you can ever dedicate to a person. "Fango" is an intimate ballad about forgiving, forgetting, moving on and living life to the fullest. "Punto"'s bossa nova arrangement makes this album eclectic without losing its cohesion.

English speakers may miss half the fun with Lorenzo's records. His lyrics are pure poetry, so understanding what he is saying is key. But even if you don't understand Italian, some songs are great anyway. My favorites in this album are "Fango" and "Temporale".

I am a HUGE Jovanotti fan (and a fan of Italian music in general). being Italian-American, I embrace the music from both of my heritage(s). I was looking for this special XMAS edition for a long time, but ordering it from oversees would have run me well over $50. Thank goodness for Amazon! I got it for at leat half price in used but PRISTINE condition!
