Had my original controller that came with my CNC mill burn up, so I ordered this to replace it. The digital inputs (endstops, touch plate, etc) didn't work on this board when I got it. I had to make a workaround and solder directly to my DB25 cable (not too hard). The axis control of the mills works perfectly with my GeckoDrive servo motor drivers. Just wished the end stops worked.

For this price though, I'd buy it again, even if I KNEW that the inputs weren't going to work. I assume they don't all have this problem. I'm running an $8000 mill off of it, with no other problems.

PERFECT for a hobbyist trying to build a mill, and decent for hooking up to any pre-existing 3 axis mill. Documentation isn't fun to find, but the board more or less explains itself on the surface.

HASH(0xb5bca738) out of 5 stars Worst thing i have gotten from Amazon, period Jan. 20 2016

total garbage. first the USB cable had a broken wire so it got no 5 volts from the PC. i fixed this because i did not have another similar cable. then could not get it to work at all. absolutely no documentation worth crap on this unit. i did fine a doc on something similar but all it covered was Mach3 setup. i know Mach3 probably better than the manufacturer. Without a schematic it is difficult but it seems that crappy soldering might have left some important connection open. this thing is going right back. sorry i wasted so much time on trying to get it to work. there may be some magic enable connection somewhere but it is certainly not obvious. i have gotten other Sain Smart stuff that worked so i assumed the negative reviews were just from inexperienced users. NOOOOOOOOOOO, this thing (at least the one i got) is total garbage.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS AND BUY A REGULAR BRAND.

Axis and outputs work, but the inputs do not work when paired with a smooth stepper. There is no documentation, so who knows why. Now I have to purchase additional gear to do what this thing was supposed to do.
