Excellent book which combines, history, artwork and of course the recipes.
Living in Newfoundland salt cod is a staple ,but to read about the history and then have so many recipes makes this a treasure. The book was a much welcome chrstmas gift for my brother who recently moved from Newfoundland to Portugal. He and his Portuguese friends are impressed, so am I.

Excellent reading on the history of our salt cod fishery. I really enjoy cooking with salt cod and look forward to trying some new dishes. The two recipes that I have tried to date were great. Neighbours also gave them a big thumbs up.

A significant part of the book is the history and preparation of the salt cod, which I wasn't expecting, but really enjoyed. Coming from Newfoundland, there are more ways to prepare salt cod than I could ever have imagined. The recipes run the gamut from traditional Newfoundland to Spanish, Portuguese, Jamaican, and many other countries that have a history with salt cod. The pictures are beautiful.
