I use this SanDisk Extreme Pro 16 GB SDHC 95MB/s card on a Sony A77 SLT (DSLR). The A77 is a 24M Pixel sensor with 12 frames per second burst rate in Raw + jpg mode. The Raw files approach 30MB in size with up to 12MB for the jpg. This card can achieve this speed until the cameras buffer runs out first. However the camera is using the write speed. When transferring the files to my computer, it is the read speed that matters and there is no way this card goes at 95MB/S which is the advertised read speed. That said, I have never had a card of any make that reaches anywhere near their rated speeds.
I would say that this is the best card for anyone with a very fast camera, in fact it is over kill in most cases as not many photographers, if any, shoot at 12 frames per second all the time, although It is nice to know that you can achieve that speed. For most, the SanDisk Extreme card, at 45MP/s would be sufficient at half the price and is also sufficient when using the camera in 1080p HD Video mode.
There is a good case to be made for purchasing the fastest card available as you never know how fast a camera you may have in the future. This SanDisk Extreme Pro is probably the fastest SD card we will see for some time, it is certainly the fastest and most reliable card available at this writing. I will buy it again but only up to 16GB as the thought of losing 32GB or 64GB of photos, in the unlikely event of a card failure, is unthinkable.
