5.0 out of 5 stars one of my favourites Mar 20 2011

I love this story. I first purchased it over 16 years ago for my daughter Sarahs second birthday. We read it many times together and it remains one of her favourite childrens books. Over the years I have read it many times to my preschool classes. As the copy was not actually mine but my daughters and knowing she would not want it to get lost or ruined (as things tend to do at preschool) I thought I'd better buy my own. As it is out of print I was so happy to find a used copy in excellent condition (actually much better than my daughters well loved one)on line. My 3-5 year old class sit mesmerised with the beautiful illustrations and lovely interesting text. If you can find a copy it is well worth purchasing.

This book is very helpfull in helping children come to grips with having to give there favorite shoes away because they are too small. It helps them to see the advantages to growing older and getting new things.

This adorable story is about a little girl who outgrows her rainboots and gives them to her little brother. She is resentful at first that her little brother gets to enjoy her boots when she no longer can. When she sees how happy he is with them, she soon joins in on the fun. My older sister and I loved this book growing up, and I just got it for her for christmas for old times' sake.
