Book Description

February 1999 Springwater Seasons

Linda Lael Miller returns to the world of her triumphant Western romance, Springwater, to create a delightful new series. Each thrilling Springwater Seasons novel takes place in the tiny stagecoach stop called Springwater, as it blossoms into a bustling Montana town. For a dance-hall girl who's never had much luck with dreams, Springwater may hold the happiness she seeks.

Savannah Rigbey has made a living pouring whiskey and singing in saloons since she was sixteen years old. She's come to Springwater to take up her half-ownership of the local bar -- but her work begins before she even sets foot in town. On the stagecoach to Springwater, a young girl goes into labor -- and Savannah, with her level head and steady hand, aids a gruff doctor in abating a crisis.

Dr. Prescott Parrish has never met a woman like Savannah. Despite her rouge and bangles, she is a virtuous -- though decidedly stubborn -- woman, who ignites his most infuriating emotions. But behind his prickly exterior, Pres harbors painful memories of the Civil War, heartache that may be soothed by a new and fulfilling love. Slowly, Pres and Savannah begin to see each other for who they truly are, with masks removed -- and with passion flaring unexpectedly....

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice little vacation for the brain March 29 2000
Format:Paperback
This whole series of books was a nice vacation for the brain. When you're tired of hearing about tragedies and violence and worst possible scenarios, when you've used your brain all day and just need a little quiet time, these are just what the doctor orderred. They are broken down into tiny little books, too, so you can begin and finish them in an afternoon. No high-brow intellectual stimulation, but better than the TV soap-opera drivel. Check them out they're fun!

This series is terrific. I could not put the book down. My only complaint is it wasn't long enough. Thank goodness for sequels. Savannah is a character that you fall in love with and want only a happy ending for her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good book... March 11 2005

I have to admit that at first I didn't think I was going to care for the book because it was a Dr. & a Saloon Girl. Pretty weird combination but the author made it work really well.

Savannah & Pres are both on a stagecoach with a pregnant girl who goes into labor just outside of Springwater. Savannah can tell that Pres is a doctor & tells him to do something. Shortly after the coach arrives in Springwater & Savannah helps to deliver the baby. Pres who has lost all his money gambling & drinking is stuck in Springwater & Savannah is there to take up her part ownership at the Saloon.

I was much happier with this book then I was in the last book. There was finally a lot more going on. There still wasn't any mystery at all to this book which I'm missing because I usually love a little thrill in my romance book & I've yet to find that in this series. There haven't been any bad guys at all. So far it's just a peaceful little town during the day & we haven't seen the night life in this town yet but hopefully we will.

I recommend this book to anybody looking for a nice, fast & easy read. This is the 3rd book in the series. #1 Springwater #2 Rachel.

Savannah Rigbey is on a stage coach heading to her new home and business in Springwater. In the coach with her is a very pregnant woman who is clearly in labor and a gentleman, a Doctor, who looks like he hasn't bathed in months. The ride is extremely bumpy and rough. Savannah tried to get the driver to stop or at least slow down, but its getting close to dark and he refuses. The coach lurches forward and leans to the side as the driver takes the coach full speed into a stream and then announces that the town is now in sight. Savannah has tried to get the Doctor to help the pregnant woman but has had no success until the coach stops and the door opens. Then the Doctor pucks up the pregnant lady and tells Savannah to bring his bag of instruments. Now that he has Savannah's attention, he put her to use helping him to deliver the baby. What a wonderful beginning to a love story! Savannah and the Doctor are pulled together by the 'electricity' that runs between them that everyone sees but them. They both have come from traumatic histories and finding each other is not going to be easy. But Linda Lael Miller finds a way! I give Mrs. Miller's book more than five stars. This third installment to her Springwater Series is masterfully written. She brings new characters to the pages but still gives us lots of great glimpses of all the past characters we have grown to love!
This story brings a young female saloon keeper to Springwater. She's for her half of the local bar. But an incident on the stagecoach calls for her assistance...and just possibly her heart.
He's full of hurt and pain from the things he remembers from the war as a surgeon. He is stuck on a stagecoach with nothing but his doctor bag. A young woman is in great need of his assistance to deliver her baby but he needs strong, steady hands to help him. Can he turn to the young, beautiful saloon keeper for help?
She wants to know this gentle doctor. This doctor wants see more to this saloon keeper. Will they fall...for each other that is?!
I wanted to know the answer to that question as soon as I read the first chapter! Grab a copy of this amazing book by Linda Lael Miller, sit back, relax, and find out if love is in the air for this doctor and the young saloon keeper!
