Product Description

The year is 2001.
On her way out of work on a frigid October night, two inebriated thugs assault pregnant Ashley Ferguson as she goes to get in her car. She is knocked unconscious and is taken to the field behind the shopping center where 23-year-old Ashley is brutally raped. This horrifying event devastates her emotionally, not only for obvious reasons, but also because it comes in the wake of her husband's tragic death.
Down and out as well as broke, talented abstract painter Ashley is forced to moved back home with her mother. Claire Whittaker, who is retired, does not want the responsibility of having to take care of Ashley's baby. Even though she loves the child dearly, it shouldn't be her job.
Then one day, after peeking in her daughter's diary, Claire is shocked to learn that Ashley is hearing voices, which are telling her to commit suicide with the .22 caliber revolver that she had supposedly bought for protection.
So who will save her? Who will save Ashley from the drugs and alcohol that begin to control her life? Who will help her become the responsible parent that her baby deserves?
Could it be Troy? The supermarket employee who had chased away the rapists? And with whom Ashley had fallen in love with? Would he accept not only her, but also her and Peter's child? Ashley hopes so, because without someone to love, life doesn't seem worth living.

An intense, well written thriller-romance with all the classic ingredients for a gripping read. Author John Meany has a wonderful ear for dialogue. His characters and situations are well drawn. I enjoyed the plot which unfolded at a nice pace and wasn't at all predictable. Recommended.

John Meany has come through again with Save Me. He has written several books and I have enjoyed them all. When Ashley Ferguson gets attacked and raped by a gang of thugs her world goes awry. Will she and her unborn baby ever have true happiness? This story gets to the core of rape and the struggles that many women go through. I for one would recommend this book to anyone. His style of writing is unique and unforgettable.

Save Me was a book that I got free and found that I absolutely loved and was surprised by how the story played out..Ashley had a hard time recovering from the rape, the drugs, the drinking. I thought many times she would end up dead. She didn't and found success in her work and true love again with Troy. Bravo! Marilyn Allen

4.0 out of 5 stars Endearing Aug. 23 2013
By Sophia Gampton - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This is an emotional story which opens with the rape and assault on the main character, Ashley. Pregnant and widowed, the ordeal, understandably sends Ashley over the edge into a world controlled by drugs and alcohol.
She is rescued from her attack by Troy who later agrees to help get Ashley back on her feet. However, he falls in love with her and her young daughter Kimberley.
The plot follows the crazy path of these two characters as they attempt to build some kind of relationship and Ashley struggles to get her life back on track and become a successful artist for herself and her daughter. Understandably she finds it difficult to trust people, particularly men and the narration reflects the instability of her character.
Read the book to find out whether Ashley learns to put her trust back in human society.
