Great movie, touching and lots of action! Filmed in Hamilton, Ontario. Very good acting. Spiritually uplifting too, a fine Christian movie. Watch it!

Reality, Great Acting, Great Message March 13 2009
By Wheelie Man - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Saving God is a RARE movie in that it not only has a good story with a great message but the acting is great! I'm one of those Christians who watches Christian movies with the feeling that I'm being dragged across nails to stand the low budget and poor acting. Even some of the best ones were difficult in the acting department.

Saving God is a BIG step up from the others. The story is not a typical little feel good story like many. It is a story of struggles and not only struggles with non believers but struggles with believers as well. It doesn't paint a false picture of perfection of those who are saved. It simply shows the truth which is that we are born sinners who still have struggles and only thrive in the fact that we are made clean by the blood of Christ.

Not only is the story good but the acting is superb. I couldn't believe I was watching a Christian movie. Rhames was outstanding to say the least. No, the other actors aren't up to his level but unlike other Christian films, they are not only tolerable but enjoyable.

In the end there are many messages in Saving God. I've already used a scene or two for my teaching. I think there are 10 or so scenes that one could use to show great examples of different views into what is going on in the world today (real life!) and how we should deal with them.

Compared to all movies this would still get a 4 out of 5 stars but as a cheap Christian film it easily gets 5 stars. I just wonder why there wasn't more advertising on this one. They really missed their chance to let people know how much they are missing if they don't watch this movie.

Missed The Mark Aug. 15 2009
By D. Lester - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
This movie had some good points and good acting. They did show how God can turn anyone's life around. No one is beyond God's Grace. Yet, where the movie fell flat was the "Christian couple" that was friends with Norris and his girlfriend. They preached it, yet they didn't quite live it. They weren't married and they were having sex...yet the movie made it seem like it was all right because they were "faithful" to each other. Come on...that's not Biblical. It could have been a very good movie...but this one point really blew it for me.

First rate Christian Movie! Dec 25 2008
By Thomas K. Perkins - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
I was pleasantly surprised by this moving, realistic movie that has a message that is timely and relevant. I agree with the reviewer who mentioned that it doesn't matter if a movie has "secular" actors. The term secular has become such a dirty word among so-called Christians. I am a born again, Bible-Believing Christian myself, but it really saddens me to hear my fellow Brothers & Sisters in the Lord be so narrow and bigoted.

This film is so touching and well made and extremely well acted. Ving Rhames was also executive producer, so this may be a clue to where is heart really is these days.

Whether you are a believer or not, please give this wonderful film a try!

"Ving" Rhames Phenomenal, Movie of Raw Life and Real Hope May 10 2010
By Robert David STEELE Vivas - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
From Wikipedia in English: Irving Rameses "Ving" Rhames (born May 12, 1959) is an American actor best known for his work in Pulp Fiction, Don King: Only in America, and the Mission: Impossible film series.

I put that up there because for me he will always be one of the main actors in Entrapment (Special Edition) where he very strangely has not received the credit he deserves as a supporting actor.

I am glad that all the Christians like this movie, but for me is is not a Christian movie per se, but rather a movie about raw life, the contradictions and challenges, and more often than most people realize, the unexpected openings for salvation and a new direction. The end is gripping, it can inspire tears.

Ving Rhames is the lead actor here (as he was in the sequel to Kojak as a series) and I would very much like to see him featured in other movies. Solid as a rock and that refers to his mind and his presence, not his body.

Absolutely recommended for viewing by anyone, not just families, and especially anyone who thinks they are "stuck." Taking a line from Human Target: The Complete First Season, "You're not as stuck as you think you are." BRAVO.

As a gesture of respect, and with a tip of the hat to Wikipedia where his entry is one of the better ones on substance, here are the three Mission Impossible movies he appeared in, the only person besides Tom Cruise to have this honor:

Mission Impossible - Ultimate Missions Collection (Mission Impossible / Mission Impossible II / Mission Impossible III)

Also see him with John Travolta in Pulp Fiction.
