All humans are going to be eliminated from the earth. The only ones that will stay are the ones that have a genetically superior race. This is the setting of Maximum Ride: Saving the World and other Extreme Sports. After six human-avian hybrids escape from the place they were created, they set out to destroy their creators, and save humans. It is up to the six of them to save the world in this thrilling book by James Patterson.Patterson has written many books for adult readers, but this series is for younger readers. He combines science fiction with mystery, to create an action packed story. The idea for this story came from two of his previous adult novels: The Lake House, and When the Wind Blows.
There are a lot of things that make this book a great addition to the series. Even if you haven't read the first two books, you can understand the plot right away. The action hooks you right from the start, and you don't want to stop reading. When you think that everything is under control, something unexpected happens that adds to the suspense.
I really enjoy all of the books in the series; each one just keeps getting better. If you like mystery, science fiction, and a little humor, you will love the flock's third adventure.

I've read all the ones that my son has and have enjoyed them as much as he has. We've had some great discussions about the characters and situations. A fun read!

My son has become an avid fan of James Patterson's Maximum Ride series. He devours each book. In 4 weeks, he has read 4 of them and is glad that I already bought the next 2 so that he can read them this weekend! He had been looking for an author to interest him lately. It's been months since my son had read any books that he liked. I hope there are more Patterson books out there for my son.
