very useful school counselor resource! Oct. 27 2009

As a school counselor, I use this book quite a bit. It's very handy for short sessions, when there's limited time. I use the activities to help me focus sessions - especially when there's limited time, then to assign counseling homework, and to guide follow-up sessions. I appreciate that the activities are tied to measureable "treatment goals" that link back to the DSM in the companion manual. I also use, both, this book and its companion to help me find a starting point in cases where I have limited knowledge or experience.

Counseling school-age kids Jan. 9 2010

I am a counselor in private practice and needed some "hands on" exercises to give to my middle school clients who are struggling with school, behavior, self-esteem, and other issues. I've used it several times with my clients and they have responded very well to the homework assignments or in-therapy work. In one particular case where the client was "stuck", it brought faster clinical results. I strongly recommend this homework planner.

CD-ROM Dec 20 2011

FYI- the CD-ROM Does not work on MAC computers. Wish I would've known that before I purchased the package. The book itself seems to have good information that correlates well with the Planner, but it would be much easier if I could access the documents via the CD-ROM instead of making copies.
