Bought this last summer for my 07 Toyota Tacoma. Had just purchased a new stereo and needed something to bypass my onboard amp. Worked fine for 3-4 months. Now has a lot of static, sound is terrible with a lot of static on one side and can't play on both front & rear anymore. This weekend will be wiring around the amp in my truck and putting this item where it belongs - in the trash bin.

I purchase this about six months ago because I changed my factory stereo and did not want to change the wiring for the speakers. It was fairly easy to hook up or so I thought. I followed the directions and as soon as I turned on the radio I got zero sound and the LED showed nothing. I had to remove the device and double and triple check the connections and then all of a sudden it just started working. For some reason it just took a while to turn itself on. Connections were good and correct the entire time, for some reason it took about 20 minutes to turn on. Once it was finally was on I received a low humming through the speakers which dissapears when the volume is turned up. I checked all wiring and even tried a different head unit and the hummings is still there. As a final try to get rid of the humming I reinstalled the factory unit and the humming went away. The seller and manufacturer were useless when it came to helping me. I may have received a faulty unit I dont know because of the lack of help from the seller.

I've been waiting years for a harness that works with the JBL system with factory pre-amp. Installed an after market receiver using this harness with no problems. Also works with the VSE subwoofer. Recommend this product to all Toyota users that want to replace the factory receiver. Simple plug and play harness.
