Pushing Boundaries,
By
This review is from: Scream (Audio CD)
When I heard Timbaland and Chris Cornell were working togheter, I didn't know what to make of it. One wanted to make a rock album and the other a hip-hop album. They both failed in their respective aspects. Does that mean there are no good songs? I enjoyed "Ground Zero", "Long Gone", "Scream" and a few others. Some songs are just a mess, "Part of Me" is a mess with awful repetitive lyrics. I'm not a fan of the songs playing into each other either, kind of too gimmicky. I respect Chris Cornell for taking the artistic chance but hope for a better album next time out.

A Great Journey,
By Kara Jean (Ottawa Ontario) - See all my reviews

This CD is Like a Year in the life. With contrasting music that melts together, Chris Cornell makes it work. This CD was a wonderful surprise. He had certainly matured since Soundgarden. Not the Soundgarden was bad, just that you can see the growth and maturity in his music now! What a great CD.

Different is good,

I've been a fan of Chris Cornell since the Badmotorfinger album of Soundgarden, and have loved everything he has done since. I like this album because I am a big fan of his and because I have a broad taste for music. If you're only a fan of Hard Rock or Metal, you aren't going to like this album. And for those who are listening to Chris Cornell for the first time and like Pop and Soft Rock you should definetly enjoy this album. The only thing stopping me from giving this album 5 stars is the intro and outro of each song which ties them together, in my opinion this takes away from the song itself.
