Amazing Noise Art, Jun 16 2005

For noise enthusiasts or experimental music seakers, this is album is a holy grail. Scrypt is a beautiful display of electronic anarchy. Lithops (aka Jan St. Werner) has constructed a great compilation of totally botched synths and ruined samples with amp feedback and metalic screaching to produce a wonderous cacophony. Beats and rhythms are nearly completely occluded by a wall of sound effect. Its perfect for drowning your mind in. This album bears only a little resemblance to Jan's other suits -Mouse On Mars and Microstoria.

Love of "Mouse on Mars" may tempt you to buy this...
My advice? Don't. It sucks. It's pointless---just
stray percussive elements that go absolutely nowhere
except to annoy the listener waiting in vain for some creative spark.
If you desire excellent other-wordly percussive electronica,
explore the genius CDS of the Autechre, but leave this
piece of crap CD alone. It's really bad. The only reason
I gave it two stars instead of one is that there are no
vocals and I appreciate that, but otherwise this CD should
be hurled directly into an incinerator. It's b-a-d bad.
