About the Author
Born in Yarmouth, Harry Thurston has been a full-time poet and freelance writer for the last 25 years. A long-time contributing editor to Equinox and Harrowsmith, his articles have won several national awards. He is also the author of nine non-fiction books, including 'Tidal Life', 'A Natural History of the Bay of Fundy', which received the Richardson Award for the best work of non-fiction by a Nova Scotian in 1990. He also won a second Richardson for his 1996 book, 'The Nature of Shorebirds: Nomads of the Wetlands'. He lives on the Tidnish River in Nova Scotia's Cumberland County with his wife, daughter, dog, and cats.
