Book Description

Jan. 1 1999 Rogue Warrior

SpecWar master Richard Marcinko has revealed classified, kill-or-be-killed operations in a series of New York Times bestsellers: Rogue Warrior, his #1 blockbuster autobiography, and four scorching Rogue Warrior novels. Now in an electrifying new adventure, the Rogue Warrior battles an ultra-secret, ultra-lethal military plot.

The Rogue Warrior's taking a flying leap -- a high-altitude jump over the South China Sea. His mission: scuttle a Chinese freighter's cargo of nuclear hardware and its crack crew of naval commandos. It's a leave-no-tracks, take-no-prisoners operation -- in short, business as usual. But on board Marcinko makes a chilling discovery: a cache of state-of-the-art command and control equipment, all made in the U.S.A. -- and primed for America's destruction!

Marcinko takes his findings back to Washington, where he runs into a wall of doublespeak and double deals. But not everyone wants to see America go down the drain. General Tom Crocker, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, unleashes the SEALs of war -- Marcinko and a Pentagon-based unit, SEAL Force Alpha -- to neutralize a global maze of political deceit that begins all too close to home.

The Chinese sense victory. They have a mole in the White House, and five thousand years of military strategy on their side. But neither the traitor nor all the wisdom of Sun Tzu are prepared for Marcinko and his men. They, after all, live by the Rogue Warrior's Tenth Commandment of SpecWar: "There Are No Rules -- Thou Shalt Win At All Cost."

From Library Journal

Now that the Russians are off limits, who is the Rogue Warrior (hero of four best sellers) supposed to battle? The Chinese, of course.

From Kirkus Reviews

This fifth in a wildly successful series (Rogue Warrior: Designation Gold, p. 85, etc.) mixing brutal action and high-tech toys doesn't stray far from the formula. Marcinko, himself a former Navy SEAL (a career described in the nonfiction Rogue Warrior, 1992), once again celebrates the adventures of a fictive Richard Marcinko and his lethal, rowdy band of SEALS as they put paid to schemes aimed at destabilizing America. The villains here are the Red Chinese, who have, with the collusion of a variety of defeatist and depraved members of the Washington elite, hatched a bizarre scheme to greatly humble the nation. Marcinko and his team handle, with gusto, both enemies without and traitors within, using their wits, a staggering array of weapons, and an obvious appetite for violence. A slick, streamlined, outrageous but entertaining product. (Author tour) -- Copyright ©1998, Kirkus Associates, LP. 5.0 out of 5 stars Dick Marcinko does it again! April 15 1998
By A Customer
Format:Audio Cassette
The (un)famous Dicky Marcinko and his team of super-trained SEALs do it again! "SEAL Force Alpha" is brimming with the speed, combat, adventure, and fun that every fan of the Rogue Warrior knows so well. For those who haven't met him yet, Dick Marchinko is a quick witted, foul mouthed former SEAL team leader with bear-like strength who doesn't like the "people high above" telling him how to lead his team of "bad boys" into the most dangerous places on Earth. They have only one mission -- beat the bad guys at their own game and have as much fun as possible!
"SEAL Force Alpha" is a definite MUST for everyone who loves action, combat and blowing things up!

4.0 out of 5 stars Demo Dick back on track Jan. 17 1999
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Better than last time: fun, active, and slightly mellow. Dick relies more heavily on his team than in Designation Gold's "Solo Dickie" theme. This outing even has Dick engage in repeated daring-do while bitching about the aches and pains of over-50-dom. Roger that, Rogue, I'm a 50+ Army Ranger myself. I'm beginning to worry that Mr. Rogue spends all his time with his buffed lads, talks a lot about his male organ, refers frequently to detecting and/or chasing females - but never does. When's the last time our fictional Captain Marcinko got laid? This book has two female operatives in it, primed and worthy to be Dickie's bedmate de jour, but what happens? Nada.

5.0 out of 5 stars Marcinko is the king of hard-hitting action. Dec 28 1998

Format:Mass Market Paperback
Marcinko does it again. Fun and action-packed, his books grab you by the balls and never let go. One of those authors who repeatedly gets great reviews for great books. As a former Navy Seal, I can tell you that the things he does are indeed true and can be taken at face value. For all the folks out there who want another non-fiction book from Demo Dick, you must all quit being idiots and remember that the Navy that spent 60 million dollars trying to put him in prison are the same folks making sure he doesn't give away any dirty little secrets in his novels. So I think another non-fiction book is out of the question.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another cheap Mac Bolan type book Sept. 18 2000

Format:Mass Market Paperback
Demo Dick Vietnam Sharkman, is a lousy writer. True he has lived the life and even in this book, you get a few juicy bits of how covert operations are carried out. Lets face it, Demo Dick is a has been, who constantly anchors down on Bombay Gin. A few years ago, I saw him on NBC news mouthing off about how he could poison Saddam Hussein. Well Dickey, Saddam is still alive. If you are the real man you claim to be, Daniel Boone, sobber up and go get him!

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic Dicky. With a twist! March 9 1998
Format:Audio Cassette
In the ongoing series "Rogue Warrior", Our favorite former S.E.A.L. team commander finds himself with new foes and familiar friends. Revealing once again more strategy of the ultimate commando force, and giving the forward, brash humor we've all come to love, this book is a must buy for ANYONE who has ever imagined themselves the hero conquering impossible odds. If you have ever read any of Tricky Dick's books you will definately love this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rogue Warrior satisfies yet again! March 1 1999
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Seal Force Alpha starts right in on the action and keeps a constant pace till the last scene. Marcinko's style, as always, entertains you and gives you the real life grit of a warrior's life. The story was very plausible, as always, and makes you wonder what we ever did without the great Rogue Warrior. A definite Spec War fan pleaser. If you are not a fan of this series yet, by the end of this Marcinko narrative you will be.

Marcinko all the way. With Dick and his band of merry mauraders, China doesn't stand a chance. Following the ten commandments of spec war is a must, especially: "Thou shalt, in thy Warrior's Mind and Soul, always remember My ultimate and final Commandment. There Are No Rules-Thou Shalt Win At All Cost." Basicaly in KISS(keep it simple stupid) terms: get the book!

Once again, Mr.Marcinko has succeeded in keeping his fans up to date on current events. In between action sequences, he manages to raise some interesting questions about President Clinton's policy towards China. In these politically correct times we live in, it is good to hear one irreverent voice contradict the liberal's view of the world.
