I bought this computer just over a month ago and today the pin inside the power input broke off. The power jack is a tiny, flimsy thing compared to other laptops, so I'm not surprised it broke. I wish I had done more research on this model because apparently it is quite common for the power pin to break after about a month. Even replacement units have the same problem. The only solution is to jam a piece of paperclip in and hope it works, or buy an external batter charger to charge the battery directly.
There was also a problem with a noisy hard drive, which is also a known issue. I was able to download software to control the noise (Quiet HDD) but that shouldn't be necessary.
Unfortunately Amazon only gives 30 days to return, so I am probably out of luck and out 500 bucks. Buyer beware!

This netbook is insanely high power, i'v played these games, Combat arms(laggy), Black Ops(laggy), Crysis 2(Smoooooooth), HAWX 2(didn't like the game on low graphics)... The built in wifi is compatible with aircrack-ng(tested on backtrack4r2)... Webcam is really clear and smooth, mic picks up all the keyboard noises unless you change some of it's settings, screen is extremely crisp quality, the only 2 downsides it has is that the keyboard is a tiny bit flexible(not enough to complain) and the power adapter's plug is mini, which for some people could be a problem, but it doesn't bug me, =)....... One problem i had, this thing doesn't have graphics drivers for windows xp, and it doesn't have webcam drivers for linux you can work the graphics in linux, but it's complicated. Also I'v formatted it back to Windows 7 Home Premium after failing graphics in Windows XP, and the Bluetooth 3.0 drivers from the ASUS Support site arn't working, they keep saying i have to plug in the bluetooth dongle, well if i figure out making the bluetooth driver installer work than i'll upload a video on how to fix it on youtube(my youtube is TheSkullBreakers)

This netbook is meeting all of my needs. It is quick, small, and light. The 2-finger scroll function on the touch pad takes just a bit of getting used to but once you've got it down it's great. No complaints at all - definitely meets my needs as a netbook user for websurfing, basic MS Office programs / functions. the 12.1" is a good size as I found the 10" one a bit too small. The only thing I have to wait for is for manufacturers to make more sleeve options in 12" size. I would recommend this netbook to anyone considering it. My IT dept at work initially recommended it -- if IT guys are recommending it you know it's good!

This Asus 1215N is called a netbook - but it's much more capable than any other netbook. It's more like a small, full function laptop at a bargain price.
Pros:
* Windows 7 premium - much better than the stripped-down "starter" edition included with most netbooks.
* Dual-core Atom processor - more than enough horsepower for almost any task.
* Nvidia ION2 graphics power - much better performance than the usual netbook with Intel integrated graphics.
* Battery life - I regularly get over 5 hours. Many netbooks get more, but considering the performance advantage of the 1215N - more than acceptable.
* Portability - small and light.
* Build quality - very sturdy, quality feel to plastics.
* Screen - nice resolution for a 12" screen, also has HDMI output so you can play videos on your HD TV or a large monitor. Videos play flawlessly when played on a big screen.

Cons:
* Touchpad buttons are quite stiff to press - I've gotten used to it so not a big issue for me. I also use a Microsoft Arc mouse most of the time.
* Speakers sound a little "tinny" - good volume, no bass. Volume takes two hands to adjust (have to press the Function key with left hand, volume up & down buttons with the right - inconvenient). Sound through headphones is good, though.
* Access to the hardware inside is limited to the 2 RAM slots through a single panel on the bottom. Hard drive etc. can not be accessed without disassembling the computer - so upgrading hardware (adding a bigger hard drive or changing to a Solid State drive, for example) is not possible.
* A lot of pre-installed "crap-ware", takes time to uninstall it all.

I've had my 1215N for over a year with no problems at all.
