Product Description

Product Description

Writing against the dramatic backdrop of beautiful Brunswick, Maine, and following the story's main characters into the Battle of Gettysburg-a critical turning point in the Civil War-author Al Lacy spins a tale of courage and lost love as heroic Captain Shane Donovan mourns the failing health of the wife he cherishes and is ultimately reunited with the love of his youth in the bittersweet Season of Valor.

Ingram

Most people hope to find one love in their lives. Shane and Ashley promise to love each other for- ever. But when Ashley's parents decide to return to Ireland and take their daughters with them, sadly force themselves to bid each other farewell.

3.0 out of 5 stars 1, Dec 21 2010
By T. Wilsdorf - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Season of Valor (Paperback)
I love the Lacys' books but sometimes the doctrine of extreme Sovreignty of God in their stories is hard to take, even to the point of detracting from the enjoyment of the story. It makes the characters like chess pieces, hardly free to breathe without God allowing it or not. Worse is the doctrinal comments about God allowing or causing tragic events. But the historical details in the book are very impressive, and their books are always a wholesome read.
