Product Description

Secret Love: Finale (Yaoi Manga)
Sagami enjoys the life that comes with being Japan’s hottest model. He’s rich, handsome, famous…and dating his agent?! Their secret affair should make working together a dream come true, but Sagami can’t seem to keep business and pleasure separate. How can they keep things quiet when Sagami even gets jealous over the way Takumi treats his clients? Whether it’s his complaining about not having enough time together because of their busy schedules, his antics on formal occasions or his unbridled passion when they’re alone (even on set!), Takumi has a lot more to manage than just Sagami’s career.

Translated by Jun Kayama; Edited by Myrrh Deren; Lettered by Krin Deren

Although I said I was looking forward to it after reading Secret Love: Overture (Yaoi Manga) (I wish it were more obvious how these two are related, a simple 1 and 2 wouldn't have hurt), I'm always skeptical of picking up the second half of a two-part series because I usually find myself disappointed. Absolutely not the case this time. It looks like this was written/published about two years after the first installment, but there's an incredible growth in the creator's style. Where the art was good before, she seems to have a much better grasp on proportion and perspective here. It makes a lot of the still art nicer to look at and the sexy parts that much more attractive (or maybe the sex is just better; it's more creative). That being the case, I couldn't be more irritated that the cover art is so bad. The storylines are also more coherent and have an emotional depth to them they were lacking on a certain level in the first volume (we spend more time with our title couple). As an added plus, the bonus material in the back of the volume does a good job of showcasing how her character building skills have developed.
It's not a miraculous departure from the first one, but I like the one a lot more. If I had to pick between them, it'd be this one hands down. All in all, I'm rather impressed.

This is the final part of the Sagami and Takumi story. There is a bit of drama with a jealous fellow actor, but the rest of the book is rather hum-drum. You would think a story about boxing would be more memorable, but it is not. There is a story about a cat and a story a story called "Unforgettable", which is a complete lie. Considering the mediocre art, I'm surprised I'm giving it such a high rating.
