5.0 out of 5 stars New York Guitar Army, May 19 2004

BOC did serious ear damage w/this one. Secret Treaties has that something extra that most hard rock bands never pull off=atmosphere. For all of BOC's releases thru the mid-80s you'll find a hue that shimmers slightly out of focus, it's dark, eerie, and seductive. See "Astronomy", "The Subhuman", or the assault of "Dominance & Submission." This edition has some excellent bonus tracks that will delight the long-time fans. These extra tracks are NOT throwaways, hunny. Give em a spin & play em loud...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best BOC album there is!, April 3 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Secret Treaties (Audio CD)
This is the best BOC album ever! 'Career of Evil', 'Dominance and Submission', 'Harvester of Eyes', a lot of good stuff is here! And the bonus tracks 'Boorman the Chauffer' and 'Mommy' are really good also and I was happy they released those with the album. This is worth every cent, and as I've been a BOC fan since I got introduced to them several years ago, I can tell you that this is the best BOC album. It's my favorite album of all time, BOC or no.

5.0 out of 5 stars great music to run on a local track near home!, Feb 11 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Secret Treaties (Audio CD)
Pink Floyd would love to make an album like this! Imagine revisiting World War II on acid. The music is rag-time meets
James Cagney in Yankee Doodle Dandie, meets heavy metal, meets bed time stories. Astronomy has the line "I know you soon will be married, and you want to know where wind comes from" that line alone gives you a good indication of the abstract philosophy
all throughout this masterpiece. Blue Oyster Cult's music is pure, and their relationship with their fans will always be a secret treaty based on repect, love, faith-thank-you lord above for BOC-in a world gone mad, its good to Know the Oyster Boys are somewhere in the world playing music form this great album. and yes the joke is on you! and when you can figure this album out then you will know where wind comes from! Suzzie dear.....
