5.0 out of 5 stars best sounding rush ever Feb 14 2012
By hilary
Format:Audio CD
i am a female rush fan. a rare breed indeed. i have seen them live since i was a teenager and I had all of the re-masters from the nighties.
i can't believe how good these new cds sound. they are so clear. i haven't been able to stop listening to them. i am going to go deaf.
i have had no problems with my cds at all and the audio dvd of fly by night sounds amazing. i will be getting the other sets.
i am so sad that andrew MacNaughton died this year. i love his photos of rush.
I highly recommended these sets for any rush fan. It doesn't get any better than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rush rules! Jan 11 2013
By Martin
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Just bought the 3 box sets and fell off my chair when I heard the quality of this work. What a great, great production work this is. So far ahead of the sound of the 90's CD edition with AAD written on the back. These albums now sound bigger, louder and with more brilliance to the whole sound. The stereophonic remixing of this wall of sound that is the one and only Rush sound, is simply of the highest quality i've heard in a long time. Feels a bit like listening to an old vinyl. Just tremendous re-work.

4.0 out of 5 stars A temptation hard to resist Dec 23 2011
Format:Audio CD
I hesitated to buy this for a few days, because like most fans I own most of these albums in multiple formats, and I'm not enough of an audiophile to tell if the remasters sound better--I usually just accept other reviews on faith. I did not find out about the problems with these sets until I had already ordered the first box, but I did notice a short drop out on one of the songs on the first album--I think it's What You're Doing. I did not notice any other problems, although to be honest I did not listen with headphones, and haven't listened too carefully yet. I grew up listening to scratchy LPs that sometimes skipped, so I think I'm pretty tolerant of little glitches in a CD, anyway.

I think I finally decided to purchase the first set because I'm a sucker for cool packaging, and I wanted to check one out before buying the others. I'm not disappointed with the package, in spite of what other reviewers have said (although it would have been even more cool if they had imprinted the actual discs to look like the original Mercury LPs--black, with the label in the middle). I was hoping the booklet would have more, as well (more pictures, maybe, and lyrics for the first album).

I'm going to wait awhile before buying the other sets, in the hope that the manufacturer will fix the problems that other reviewers have been talking about. I do wonder what guarantee we'll have that, if we order these online, we'll actually get the new corrected versions and not old ones that have been sitting in a warehouse. Does anyone know if the existing sets will actually be sent back to the manufacturer?

The bottom line for me is that these are neat to have if you're a collector and a die-hard fan.
