This book is for CISCO Networking Academy course use, not for self study. All the figures are linked to a website of CISCO Networking Academy, which requires password to access. You only get access to the figures of the book when you register for a CISCO Networking Academy course CCNA security (I think the registration is around $1600).

I want to use it to help my self-study, this book CANNOT serve the purpose.

Very disappointed!

CCNA Security Course Booklet Version 1.1 (2nd Edition), Not what I expected. There are no diagrams for the labs, I would not recommend. Try getting the labs free online.

This book is a copy of the online course without any graphics. Still need to be online to make sense of the course as it is graphic heavy, but nice for those of us who prefer to have additional non-online study options. Wish they made a book available that included the graphics!
You can't have enough useful tools for the classroom environment. Nov. 22 2013

I still enjoy flipping through and highlighting the pages in my books. This book works well with the Network Academy Security course. I found that highlighting with multiple colors helps me scan through a chapter easier, especially when it comes to test time!

Easier for me to carry around a book than a tablet or laptop, no power required!

My tablet is three years old and a bit buggy with the Network Academy site, perhaps an updated tablet would change this thought process.

The only problem I see, and it's minor in my scenario, because I'm registered in the Cisco's Network Academy. The book has these small blue boxes that references charts or pictures that can only be seen on the Network Academy site. In most cases, the boxes are pertinent (Helpful) to the material your our learning in that particular chapter.

I would recommend this book as another tool in class, especially if you still enjoy turning real pages!

Great book to use in your CCNA Security Course. I love having the textbook in hand so I can use it to review throughout the course. I prefer hard cover texts; however, at the time, this booklet was all that was available.
