A must read for Special Event Planners Feb. 1 2013
By dale a. currier, MS Ed., SPHR, CPT, CEM, MEP - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I was looking for a concise, practical and contemporary resource for planning security activities at large special events and found it. The authors' provide a well-rounded combination of information and guidance on application of the information presented that I have applied to nuerous events: large sporting events, community festivals, car races, and various university events. The references provide added value for gathering additional detailed information. A great resource for the money and useful for new and experienced special events and security planners. Other books by the same authors have provided excellent information and value.
Sanitized book does not live up to standards June 15 2014
By Nikko Quiggins - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I only found this book only moderately useful. Security is formatted around intelligence - gathered, analyzed and verified information.

However, this book appeared to sanitize real life events for political correctness reasons, which undermines the very purpose of the book.

In just one of many examples, in the laundry list of terrorist events by the author, more often then not the author left out that it was a Muslim terrorist organization carrying out the attack even when it was confirmed that the organization carried out the attack. But was sure to ID the background of the attacker when it involved the Atlanta Olympics, etc.

That makes me question the correctness of the rest of the information provided in the author's book.

For that reason, I would not recommend the book.
