4.0 out of 5 stars Found:One Tall, Dark Cowboy, Jun 5 2008
By Merry Reader "Sissy" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Seeker (Paperback)
Amanda Mcgregor is related to Madeline Darnell, from Silhouette Romance #921 The Virgin Wife.
Madeline sends a diary to Amanda who has the ability to find lost things.
Amanda decides to go on a quest. She ends up in South Dakota on the land of Hawk Stone, a half Native American.
As a half Native American, and an illegitimate son of the man who's ranch he runs. Hawk has had a rough time from both whites and Native Americans.
Amanda finds his niece lost in the dark.
Amanda believes this is why she was sent, to find the lost child.
But when she finds out about the lost gold mine, the only thing that will keep Hawk from losing the ranch that he loves. the mine belonged to Hawk's great-grandfather Speckled Owl; Amanda thinks this is the real reason she was to come to South Dakota.
Amanda tells these people about her gift. No one reacts as if it is unusual which she finds strange.
Soon she realizes the treasure she really came to find was Hawk.
But Hawk has had so many rejections in his life, he doesn't believe Amanda will stay when she is exposed to the things that he has had to go through.
When he does comes to his senses Amanda is already back home in Washington State.
Hawk goes to find Amanda. And love wins the war.

5.0 out of 5 stars #5 of SMYTHESHIRE - THEY KEEP GETTING BETTER, Mar 3 2003
By M. Hartmann "abayyan" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Seeker (Paperback)
Amanda MacGreggor from Seattle, Washington is a cousin to Madeline Darnell [book #1]. She read a diary that Madeline sent [no reason given] her about their "Druid" ancestory and heritage and because of it Amanda decided to allow her instincts to lead her.
She seems to have a nack for finding lost articles. While on her travels she gets lost in South Dakota and finds a lost child. Also found is one tall, dark cowboy.

Amanda stumbles onto Hawk Stone's story when she decides to work on the Jerome ranch. Pauline, the housekeeper tells her of Hawk's great-grandfather, Speckled Owl and the legend of the missing gold mine.

Shortly after arriving Hawk comes down with the flu and Amanda as employee and maid is elected to care for Hawk, who isn't very co-operative. But sparks are being struck. [grin - you will love it.]
Amanda decides that she must have been led to the Jerome ranch to find the gold mine for Hawk. Hawk presents the facade of a grim lipped grouch but he can't seem to take his eyes off of Amanda. Yet he will not allow himself to involve any woman with his life style.

Love blossoms but even that does not stop Hawk from allowing Amanda to leave and return to her home.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - these stories just seem to keep getting better - most excellent series.
