Book Description

November 2007
The present volume consists of a translation of some of Karl Marx's principal writings during the six years 1844-1850.*** In 1843 Marx was twenty-five years old. He had just married, apparently on the strength of the modest salary he was to receive for editing, jointly with Arnold Ruge, a periodical called the Deutsch-Franzoesische Jahrbuecher (Franco-German Annuals), the purpose of which was to promote the union of German philosophy with French social science. Only one double-number of this journal appeared in 1844. It contained Marx's criticism of the Hegelian Philosophy of Right and his exposition of the social significance of the Jewish question, in the form of a review of two works by Bruno Bauer.*** Translations of both articles are given in this special Large-Print volume.

3.0 out of 5 stars Contents Feb. 12 2011
By J. Morrell - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Just thought I would post a much-needed table of contents to inform those curious. This e-volume contains:

Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right
On the Jewish Question
On the King of Prussia and Social Reform
Moralizing Criticism and Critical Morality: A Polemic Against Karl Heinzen
French Materialism
The English Revolution

The translation is not good at all, but at least it has a linkable ToC
4.0 out of 5 stars Mark's a writer for all seasons. July 11 2014

Mark's genius amplifies his insights on social matters dissecting the elements of Marksism ideologies.
He is clear on his dissertation about pluralism jurisdictions even now and leaves the reader to ponder if the capitalism we know know has two facets which involves serving the interest of plutocrats and the mass media so to speak.
Our liberties at any rate are compromised as he peers our eyes through the lens of these essays, not take anything forgranted as all of life's convictions are slippery.

1.0 out of 5 stars A poor collection of bad translations July 5 2013
By Drake Donegal - Published on Amazon.com
This is nothing more than a poor collection of bad translations hastily thrown together. Every piece that appears in this book is in the public domain and thus available to read for free online. For those who prefer to read things on paper or Kindle (which includes me) you would be better off with an edited collection like Karl Marx: Selected Writings (but make sure you get one of the editions edited by David McLellan rather than one of the less expensive, self-published knock offs). A lot of the stuff issued out of foreign languages publishing houses of the Soviet Union and People's Republic of China is available for cheap, on Amazon and elsewhere.
