I got this DVD for Christmas, and it is AMAZING!!! Perfect for beginners because the moves are very easy to learn and don't require complicated footwork like many routines. Easy as it is, it also challenges you--it is fast-paced, and there are high-impact and low-impact variations. There is a warm-up interval, a ballet-inspired section, cardio section, sculpting section with hand weights, and a cool-down stretch. The first few times I did the whole work out, I could barely take the stairs on campus the next day, but in only about a month, my flexibility and stamina are much higher, I can see improvement in muscle tone and have lost pounds! The instructor is up-beat, but not grating and annoying like Kathy Smith, although the background music takes on a bizarre Russian dance-like beat at one point. It also includes a bonus section called total body turnaround, which provides a farther sculpting segment that can be repeated 2 or 3 times. All in all, a FANTASTIC way to get in shape!
