I have to admit, that when I was given this book, my family immediately wanted the bacon wrapped meat loaf and it is amazing that it is not here, nor even alluded to. I did find Sandra Lee's recipe for 3 small bacon wrapped meat loaves on the net. What is the big secret and not to label what is on the cover? Many of the recipes in the book seem very familiar and similar to ones she has done before. So if you have several of her books you might not be getting very different ideas. Contained within are snacks and starters, stews and chilies, soups and sandwiches, sides, pasta, one-dish dinners, breakfast for dinner, meals from the oven, casseroles and desserts
....Really do not appreciate false advertising such as this.
Here's the closest thing Sandra Lee has published that I have found elsewhere that should have been given with the cover picture.
Makes 3 loaves or 6 servings
Ingredients
9 slices bacon
3/4 pound lean ground beef
3/4 pound ground pork
3/4 pound ground veal
1 egg 1/4 cup chili sauce
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup frozen chopped onions
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
1 (1-ounce) packet beefy onion soup mix
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Poke holes in the bottom of three 5-5/8 x 3-3/16-inch disposable foil loaf pans. Line each pan with 3 slices bacon lengthwise and set aside. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, ground veal, egg, and chili sauce and mix well. Add rolled oats, onions, garlic, and dry soup mix and mix well. Spoon meat mixture evenly among bacon-lined pans and smooth the top. Place pan on a wire rack over a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until instant-read thermometer inserted in center registers 160 degrees F. Slice and serve hot

I was really excited to get my Comfort Food book today, and the cover recipes look especially yummy, but for the life of me I cannot find them in the cookbook. Why would they not put the recipes in the book for the delicious looking food on the cover? If I am missing the boat here, could someone please direct me to these recipes, because they look delicious. If they are really not anywhere to be found in the book, then I am really disappointed. For those of us that purchased the book, wouldn't we want to know how to make the comforting doughnut dessert on the cover?

I received this book as a gift and I love it.
There are so many helpful and useful recipes in here. It is almost like you don't need another cookbook.
I love cookbooks and this is one of the best of Sandra Lees that I have. There are wonderful hints.
Also the book is divided into different segments for food courses and ingredients.
