Product Description

Ingram

Rachel and her other single friends call it Black Sunday! As a therapist she knows all about how the pressures of being a couple on Valentine's Day can send people over the edge. The town council thinks that if Rachel had a valentine she'd have a change of heart, so they send out their best weapon--sexy bachelor mayor Drew Lavery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Send Me No Flowers, April 4 2000

I Loved this book! Author Kristin Gabriel just keeps getting better and better! Everytime I sit down to read one of her books I can count on laughing out loud. Send Me No Flowers matches therapist Rachel Grant with Love, Michigan's sexy mayor, Drew Lavery. Rachel and her paitents are sour on love, so they decide to boycott Valentine's Day. Drew must change her mind for the sake of the town's tourist trade. This zany romp is just plain fun, and Gabriel's unique brand of humor is delightful!

4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky humor!, Sep 1 2004
By Stephanie Smith "English major in progress" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Send me no flowers (Paperback)
Dr. Rachel Grant and members of her transitions support group call it Black Sunday. Fed up with the pressures and antics of Valentine's Day, they decide to organize a boycott. Soon, everyone in Love, Michigan are taking sides. Concerned that the boycott will hurt Love's tourism, the town council convinces bachelor mayor Drew Lavery to convince Rachel to drop the boycott and have a change of heart... By becoming his valentine.

Stephanie's Review:

Kristin Gabriel is a master of romantic comedy. I was pulled into the story the moment Rachel tried to escape from another unsuccessful date by crawling out the bathroom window of a restaurant. (All she wants to do is go home and eat Twinkees--a ritual she's established since her fiance left her to find an elusive cockroach in Africa two years ago.) Rachel and Drew are the perfect adversaries for each other as both fight--with quirks and humor--for what they believe in. As they fall in love--much to their "horror"--Rachel's fiance shows up wanting her back.
