I bought this because of some of the features which set it apart from other wireless headsets. Namely; the sound quality & balancing (you don't get ridiculous extremes in volume with these which makes listening to action or horror movies much more tolerable on the ears), the ability to plug in to any device (I've used it on a mp3 player, tv, receiver, desktop and a tablet), the sheer comfort of the headset itself (a velvet padding on the ears and top of the head), being able to recharge the headphones directly on the transmitter, and the battery life (I had a 8 hour movie marathon and didn't have to charge it once). While it's price point may scare a lot of people off but in this case you get what you pay for, and they're amazing. And keep in mind that the transmitter works with 4 sets of headphones, so if you plan on getting a second it's much cheaper and can work off of the same transmitter.

Sennheiser RS 180 headphones are an audiophiles wet dream. Light weight head set and smart looking receiver makes this one of the nicest wireless headsets on the market.
The one big selling point was that the rechargeable batteries are replaceable by the owner. Just twist the ear piece to expose the battery compartment which can be used with ordinary alkaline batteries or the rechargeable batteries included. To charge with rechargeable batteries only just place the headset on the receiver so they are charged and ready for your next use.
Listening to a variety of music on the Sennheiser RS180's they have a deep rich bass and crisp clean highs not coloured or distorted at all !Listening to Steely Dan Aja was like listening to a whole new cd on these headphones.
Can't recommend them enough.
When first setting them up give them a chance as they seem to learn the base receiver if that makes sence. I had static at first then after a few minutes I haven't heard one bit of Interference and have roamed the entire house with them on.
Shop around you can get them for under $300.

I used other models of wireless headphones, mainly Sony ones, but they all had issues with interference and unwanted white noise whenever I moved my head. With the RS 180, I have yet to hear any noise, even when I go to the other side of the apartment to get a drink. The sound is clear and precise, the headset isn't too heavy.

The controls take a few times to get used to, with the On/Off button being between Sound up and Sound down, weirdly enough, but I never got it wrong, so maybe it isn't that weird!

Battery life is FANTASTIC! I ran it for 18 hours straight once for a Breaking Bad marathon, it kept going, then I charged it for 6 hours while I slept and was able to get another 12 hours, without any sign of battery fatigue, so I have no idea when it would have shut down, but I certainly would have before them!

I have quite a big head and had no issue fitting it. I have to say, it feels a bit weird on my ears, because all the sides are touching them (the headphones go over the ears). It's not painful in any way, but a bit bizarre feeling.

It feels a lot less hot, being velour-covered, than leather ones, at least.

I'm very happy I treated myself to these headphones.

The RS 180 headphones are in my opinion a perfect product. The sound is life like and brings TV viewing to a whole new level. I now have the option to watch TV at night while my family is sleeping and don't have to be concerned about the volume level. Set up was very easy and headphones are problem free, no static at all in fact our TV has never sounded better!

I am pleasantly surprised and very pleased with these. The sound quality is excellent and they are quite comfortable to wear. It's particularly nice not having to worry about a wire. I can move freely about my office, or indeed my house, and not experience any distortion in the sound from my computer. I highly recommend these to anyone wanting to try GOOD wireless headphone technology.

A few things I thought I should address that people with 1-2 stars are experiencing.

1 - SOUND LEVEL: There is a db switch at the back. By default it is set to lower volume, not sure why. Without reading the manual (who does?) people would think the volume on this headset is too low. I believe they did this for inputs from amplified receivers.

2 - BUILD QUALITY: The build quality seems bad. Since this is Sennheiser, rest assured the quality is not bad at all. It feels like cheap plastic because we associate weightless with cheap. Sennheiser puts a lot of effort in making their headphones light but durable (although the first iteration of 280 pro had a headband snapping problem). This headphone is very close to weightless when it is on your head. To achieve that, they use very light plastic. The only thing I have concerns with (same with the RS160) is the rotating hinge connecting the band to the earcup. I am hoping that it will not fail. I have owned the RS160 for quite some time and so far, no sign that they will fall apart.

3 - SOUND LEAKAGE: These (RS180) are open back headphones. If people are spending this much money on headphones, they should look up what open back means. They provide a better sound stage, more airy natural sound but the drawback is that people can listen to what you are listening to (at higher volumes) and you can listen to the surrounding environment. One of my reasons for buying these was to let me listen to things around the house (door bell / phone call). With the RS160, you won't hear any of that. They isolate fairly well (although not as much as, say the 280 pro, or the 380 pro).
