Great headset, May 21 2008

I purchased this for use at work for teleconferencing. Sound quality is great. People on the other end can hear me very well. I work in an office with a bit of background noise from air handling equipment overhead. There is not a lot of background voice noise though.
One word of caution. I am using this with a Cisco 7940 VOIP phone. The cable that Amazon suggests (CSTD 01) does not work with this phone. I purchased cable CSTD 08 for use with this phone from another vendor.

Great Headset for Mobile Users (with adaptor), April 4 2008

I purchased this for use with my Blackberry as a mobile headset using the CCEL190-2 adaptor which gives it a 2.5MM plug. The headset is VERY comfortable, and the microphone and ear speaker are top notch quality. My callers tell me I sound clear as a bell, and listening quality is great. Two minor drawbacks are the size of the unit is larger than most headsets so fitting it in your briefcase is tougher, and the adaptor adds some cord length, but I am happy to live with those inconveniences given the superior voice and sound quality, which I find are sadly lacking in most portable headsets.

Disappointing sound, and you need a cord adapter, Oct 6 2008

I find that the sound from the Sennheiser headset is actually worse than from the $25 headsets I can buy at Staples. Moreover, you need to buy an adapter cord to actually plug it into a phone, adding another $20 or so to the cost. The headset cord, plus the adapter cord, makes for a really long cord--too long, actually. When wearing the headset while standing up, the cord almost drags to the floor.
I bought this headset because I hoped that it would last longer than the $25 variety. Now I'm not so sure that I want it to.

It is now a few weeks later than when I wrote the above review, and I find that the sound quality is really quite poor. In particular, this headset has a terrible microphone. It really distorts voice. If I could, I would lower my review to one star.
