The first time I listened to Les Discrets a new curiosity entered into the world. Post-rock is a firm yet way overused genre, if executed properly it falls into the category of deep emotion; Les Discrets manages to do so with this new and improved sounding wave of post black metal. Every song left me satisfied, they never rushed anything, it flows so well. My first listen to one of the songs was "please don't start the chorus yet, wait some time to let the song fall into place, don't rush it" and yes, they did wait the good 20 seconds. Every song has left me wanting more, I haven't even found the need to seek out more from this genre, I have been captivated by Les Discrets. Les Discrets has no room for improvement, only a difference in creativity in a hopefully later released album. They create such a strong atmospheric sound; several parts of their songs are truly beautiful. Beautiful and Black Metal? What? Yes, the perfect combination between genres creates a natural blend. This band eliminates any dichotomy between post rock\atmospheric\black metal. The artwork has so much originality that it is worth buying the real CD over the MP3. Every lyric has so much depth and a passion that runs so deep to the heart. This CD is a one of a kind, and I feel bad for anyone who will fail to appreciate this CD. The word pristine is a mere word when used to describe Les Discrets; absolute perfection are the only words that can be used to describe this creation.
