A picture book that shows the still beautiful Grace Kelly, July 10 1999

A good book but a reality check that we do grow old but are still beautiful. That is how Grace Kelly was. She was still a beautiful person through her looks and her charity work.

Although the book is old (20 years now, you can smell it)I like it very very much. It is in good shape and has a lot of pictures I had never seen before. It is written just after her death, so the story is very sad, but the photo's are really beautiful and this book is a jewel to my collection. And this time I received it in only a couple of weeks!

Mr. Hall's stunning photographs highlight the life and sad death of one of Hollywood's leading ladies, her Serene Highness Princess Grace. Grace Kelly dazzled us in movies such as The Swan, Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch A Thief, and Rear Window with James Stewart. Her beautiful and seemingly cool exterior hid the passionate woman beneath, a woman whose kindness and strength allowed her to champion dozens of worthy causes.
The Grace the public knew was fashionably elegant, composed and flawless, a jewel at any gathering or social event. She was the honorary President of the World Association of the Friends of Children and Grace appeared at many fundraising events. She was often seen gracefully carrying flowers, one of her favorite accents and she was as relaxed in the company of royalty as she was in a gathering of small children.
Grace was sometime asked whether she regretted leaving Hollywood and she replied that she did not. As an accomplished actress, she might have seen fame and fortune, but her marriage to the Prince of Monaco thrust her into a different world. There, she raised two daughters and a son, giving them an astonishingly normal upbringing.
Her tragic car accident left the world with a huge vacant hole. The light had suddenly gone out of the world and all of us mourned the passing of a great and noble lady. Yet, it is the many things about Princess Grace that we shall treasure, her bright eyes, dazzling smile and warmth for her fellow human beings. We are but students of a woman who lived her life with dignity, joy and happiness - our Grace.
