America's favorite slave to baked goods, Cookie Monster, is the star of this very funny collection of comic sketches culled from the insatiable Muppet's tenure on Sesame Street. From the opening scene--in which the wild-eyed Cookie yields to pure impulse and devours a cookbook (rather than wait for a pastry recipe to be fully realized in his kitchen)--the longtime Children's Television Workshop character never fails to entertain with his charming anarchy. Also on the program are classic Sesame Street songs "C Is for Cookie" (and its spinoff, "C Drives Me Crazy," featuring a guest appearance by the Fine Young Cannibals), "If Moon Were a Cookie," and the touching "What Is Friend?" The high point, however, is the gravel-voiced Cookie's scene with actress Annette Bening, who helps him sort out the difference between a "Cookie Here and There." This is a great dvd for the Cookie Monster fan! Lot's of catchy songs sung by Cookie himself will have your kids singing along! Cookie Monster starting his new job as a baker is hilarious! You won't go wrong buying this dvd! You don't see Cookie Monster enough anymore!

My son loves this video, and his little sister is getting into it as well! It is really wonderful, with the usual blend of really funny humor and education that you expect from Sesame Street! Cookie Monster is so funny,a nd the script is really clever and well-done. The songs are all just top-notch. I think this is a must-have for anyone with a kid, and for those of us who are just big kids too!!

If you are looking for a video that will hold your interest as well as your child's, this is it. My 15 month old daughter will watch this video start to finish, and she loves the music, which teaches children about letters and there is a valuable song here about sharing. My husband and I are entertained, too, by Cookie Monster's desperation after eating his cookbook! A winner.
