Product Description

From Amazon.com

The fourth season of Sex and the City is just as smart and sexy as ever, mixing caustic adult wit and sharply observed situation comedy on the mean streets of Manhattan, though this time the quartet of singleton city girls must endure even tougher combat in the unending war of love, sex, and shopping. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) finally seems to have found her ideal life partner when she is reunited with handsome craftsman Aidan (John Corbett). But can their relationship survive trial by cohabitation? Meanwhile Charlotte (Kristin Davis) seems to have both her dream Park Avenue apartment and a solution to her marital problems with Trey (Kyle MacLachlan). But when the subject of babies comes up, everything starts to unravel for her, too. It's not just Charlotte who has baby issues either: after what seems like an eternity of enforced sexual abstinence Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) is horrified to discover she's pregnant. And as for the sultry Samantha (Kim Cattrall), she's on a quest for monogamy, first with an exotic lesbian artist, then with a philandering businessman, with whom to her utter dismay she just might have fallen in love. --Mark Walker

Chronique Amazon.fr

5.0 out of 5 stars You haven't ordered season four?!?!, April 16 2003
Have you ordered Season Four of Sex and the City? Why on earth not? This season finds many interesting twists and turns for our favorite foursome. Let's break it down by character, shall we? We find Samantha settling down....with a woman?? After that fails becuase she misses men, we find her....falling in love? Samantha? Oh yes, kiddies! Samantha falls in love. Did anyone, aside from me, think that wouldn't ever happen? Charlotte and Trey are working on their problems and have decided to have a child. This is wonderful until they spend time with a couple who has a child....those plans are put on hold. Later it's decided that they can handle it. They begin trying again, and Charlotte is upset to find....they can't conceive! This must be a mistake....or is it? Charlotte is crushed, and Trey, after trying the make light of the situation ends up making it worse. Miranda, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have that problem. After having sympathy sex with Steve after he loses a testicle, Miranda discovers she is pregnant. At first, she decides she can't keep the baby. Later, however, it is decided that throughout this season Miranda will enjoy the "benefits" of pregnancy including the joy of her baby boy's first real kick. Finally, we have Ms Carrie. Carrie is back together with Aiden! For those of you who like her with Aiden, you lucky dogs! Not only do they get back together, but he proposes, and Carrie accepts?? They get engaged! However, For those of you, like me, who think she is better with Big, you'll be happy to know Carrie and Aiden don't last. She begins having panic attacks while trying on wedding dresses and it is decided to put the wedding on hold. Eventually, Carrie realizes Aiden doesn't want to wait. He wants to get married now so he can know she belongs to him. Carrie is stunned to realize he still doesn't trust her. The real hardship Carrie must deal with other than another painful breakup with Aiden?? Big leaves New York. Yes, that's right! Big leaves New York for Napa California! Is this the end for Carrie and Big? If you're like me, you've seen seasons 1, 2, and 3 about four times already in anticipation of the latest arrival.....Season Four (mystical music fades into the background) In all seriousness, season four doesn't dissapoint you. As always the fearless foursome takes you on the rollercoaster that is their lives and all you can do is hang on and enjoy the ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars Like wine, Sex gets better with age, April 9 2003

I adore Season 4 of SATC. I love seeing the women evolve. Carrie and Big's relationship has moved from an emotionally draining mess to a beautiful friendship (just watch The Agony and the Ex-tacy and I Heart NY to see this). Carrie and Aidan are a great couple and I loved seeing them try again--one of my favorite moments is when Aidan is resisting getting back with Carrie and yells "You broke my heart!" wow. Miranda softens up and seems human. Her "oops" pregnancy is realistic look at a single woman in her 30s finding herself pregnant and wondering if this is her chance to have a child. Charlotte continues to be a bit of a Pollyanna, but realizes that her fairytale life isn't heading for a happy ending. Samantha finally accepts love which is great to see (although the lesbian detour doesn't work). I loved this season!! I enjoyed seeing characters I love moving away from being carefree singletons to hopeful couplehood and family life. Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha take life by the balls and try their best.
