Before the sixth season started in the summer of 2003, a bombshell hit: it was announced that this would be the finale. Fans, just getting over the truncated fifth season (due to half the cast getting pregnant), were beside themselves. But it would be a long season, and these 12 episodes plant the seeds for the final 8 airing the following winter. These dozen episodes illustrate the maturity of the show: there's not a bad one in the bunch, with things like old flames Mr. Big (Chris Noth), and Steve (David Eigenberg) popping in with deeper resiliency. And the show is still flat-out funny. Berger is the most intrinsically humorous of Carrie's beaus (his introduction to Prada is a classic), Jarrod's earnest streak on Samantha gets her flabbergasted in the giddiest ways, and Charlotte's attempt to convert to Judaism is right in character. The touchstone episode is "A Woman's Right to Shoes," in which Carrie loses her prized and expensive Manolo Blahniks at a party. The comedy blends serious points of how we perceive singles, couples, and parents (and the gifts we lavish on the latter two). Carrie's method of celebrating her singlehood is just another gem in this treasure of a series. --Doug Thomas

Part 1??? This is just awful!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sex and the City: Season 6 Part 1 (DVD)
I can not believe that after putting out season 5 at full price, even though it was shortened due to Parker's prenancy, HBO (Time Warner) has the nerve to break season six up into two parts.I already had to keep HBO several months longer so that we could see the end of the series but, this is just a terrible way to treat loyal fans of the show. Corporate greed wins again.

Expensive, but Worth It,

Sometimes the things you buy online are cheap and awesome, like the book "Secrets of Sensual Lovemaking." Other times they're medium price, like the dvd "New Sex Now". Other times they are expensive, like this Sex And The City dvd -- but this one is so worth it. This season was the best. And all of these are things you should own and enjoy to the max.

Almost over, but still strong,

This review is from: Sex and the City: Season 6 Part 1 (DVD)
Sex and the City is a classic show that will always be in the hearts of women everywhere. There have been complaints that the beginning of season six and five are rip offs due to the few episodes in them. Although there is not a good reason to split up season six, in my opinion it was a good choice because the faster the seasons are put out onto DVD, the faster we watch them, therefore the faster our beloved Sex and the City ends. If the episodes come out too soon we can't even get excited about them coming out on DVD! Although the price range is also a bit of an annoyance, true fans can try not to care about it, because after all this show is one of a kind. Also, you don't want to miss the inside scoop on some episodes given to you by Michael Patrick King. Buy this DVD because you won't be dissapointed when your laughing and crying with Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, Samantha, and all the guys on this HBO hit series!
