Product Description

Roderick Blank, Simon Baker, is a successful modern man, content with his personal and professional life. However, a week before his wedding to a suitably stuffy fiancee, Rodericks perfectly planned existence is upended by a mysterious e-mail containing the names of every woman he has had sex with and, eerily, every woman he will have sex with in the future. He is stopped in his tracks when he meets a femme fatale, Winona Ryder, who targets men guilty of sex crimes against women. Co-starring Patton Oswalt and directed by Daniel Waters, writer of the cult hit Heathers.

4.0 out of 5 stars Odd but funny! Mar 20 2013

I had to watch this movie twice in order to get the full message of it. Although at times it could be seen as offensive by some females (I am one) altogether it wasn't that bad of a movie. It was good for the laughs - and seeing Simon Baker flash his butt! :)

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring July 25 2008
By Kona TOP 100 REVIEWER
Format:DVD
One day, an anonymous source sends Roderick Blank (Simon Baker) a list of all the girls he's done the deed with in the past...and the 72 women he'll do it with in the future. He's not dreaming; it really comes true. He meets someone on his list and voilà! Next! Rod's having the time of his life until he sees that the last woman on his list will definitely be his LAST.

Would you live your life differently if you knew exactly what was going to happen? That's the premise of this indie flick which could probably best be used as a drinking game: Take a shot everytime someone is naked or says the f-word. That should keep viewers happy so they won't notice it's an incredible bore. Although it's about someone living the young man's dream of doing a new girl every three minutes, there's nothing even remotely sexy or appealing.

Simon Baker ("The Devil Wears Prada") is a good actor but looks wrong playing the super swinger (a much sillier comedian like Adam Sandler or Rob Schneider would have been better), a weird subplot with Winona Ryder is confusing and off-putting, and the ending must have been from another script. Mindy Cohn ("The Facts of Life") plays a really annoying wise-cracking secretary. All of the characters are too hip, to flip, too quick with the punch-lines. They didn't connect with each other emotionally and I didn't like any of them.

This movie might appeal to adolescent boys, but I bet they do a lot of fast-forwarding between the "action" scenes. I was hard-put to pay attention and follow the plot because often I didn't know (or care about) what was going on. Writer/director Daniel Waters' sex comedy misses the mark; it's not sexy or funny.

4.0 out of 5 stars Totally underrated Sep 1 2010
Format:DVD
I saw a one-star review of this movie and almost passed it by, but then decided to give it a shot anyway, and I wasn't disappointed. It's a funny, sexy and cool movie - much more fun than, say, Sex in the City.
