This book is only the second best because the book before it was the best. Karen Dales is a writer beyond compare. I have never wept so hard over a book in my entire life. Her characters are so tragic and so beautiful that you can't help but feel for them. Her descriptions are so lively and intense that I read this entire book in one sitting, and then read it again and again and again. A must have for any dark fantasy lovers and vampire lovers.

Even adter reading the other two books, I simply wasn't prepaired for the excitment in this book. It kept me bitting my nails while praying the book would never end! Again, the characters are simply amazing as is their wonderfuly creative author! This is a must read!!

Absolutely and without a doubt, Miss Dales has crafted the richest, deepest, most intricately interwoven tale I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Her imagination and creativity topple the scales completely over, leaving me simultaneously breathless and brokenhearted. It was so powerfully gripping and hauntingly beautiful, I was enraptured page after riveting page as I read the series. If you're into vampires, this is for you. Although, it's a bit darker than many paranormal books we've been reading, nonetheless, it still towers over any of the 'norm' we've had access to. I cannot wait for the next installment! :)

After being sucked in by the prequel and first book of the series, I was pretty stoked to delve into the second book. A lot of time has passed between book one and two but one thing hasn't changed: the Angel is still an outcast and he is burdened by the death of his beloved Jeannie. When his Chooser invites him to go to modern-day North America on a trip, the Angel is nervous but he has no idea what awaits him across the ocean. Someone is there and they aren't happy with what the Angel is doing with the Vampires. He has a plan, involving the Angel's beloved sword and someone from Angel's past.
I don't want to say much more but there are several twists that will have you on the edge of your seat and begging for Dales to finish the third book to find out what happens next!
