Product Description

From Library Journal

What began as a rite-of-passage journey for Healer/WolfWalker Ember Dion and her twin brother Rhom becomes a desperate struggle for freedom as they and their companions stumble upon a madman's designs for war and conquest. Despite an engaging collection of protagonists, Harper's sequel to WolfWalker ( LJ 3/15/90) suffers from an overly contrived plot. Not an essential purchase.

From the Publisher

I'm a sucker for wolves. I'm also a sucker for stories about humans who have telepathic relationships with animals (I especially like wolves--did I mention that?). I'd like to do things like climb sheer cliffs and shoot whitewater rapids, but I'm too scared of them. Tara Harper's Tales of the Wolves allows me to experience all of that vicariously. Too bad the wolf part isn't real--I don't think I'd be scared of that. Then again, Tara tells me wolves can be pretty nasty. And they are wild animals, after all. I guess I'll just stick to reading...

Dion and her wolf, Gray Hishn, share a telepathic bond. They can scout trails better than any single human. Dion is also a Healer and together they can do Ovousibas, the long forgotten way to heal people from within.
Enemy agents scour the countryside looking for the group which includes them. But they must make it through the frozen mountains, avoiding the Mudsuckers, Masa, the troops, and more to warn their people of impending war.
***Fast paced story. I enjoyed it just as much as I did WOLFWALKER. Lots of fighting, evasiveness, and skill. Tara K. Harper has become one of my favorite Sci-Fi writers.***

HASH(0xa19b1324) out of 5 stars Another in a Great series Dec 4 2011
By Billy R. Housden - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
I have read this series twice now and I'm sure it will be a future read-over. First few books were from a friend at the time, used - and I was hooked. They weren't in order though, and of course I wanted to read the whole series once I started. Good things can come from anywhere.

Highly addictive. Not a hard read either!
HASH(0xa19b13cc) out of 5 stars Great Series Feb. 6 2010

This is a great series of books. Fast-paced stories, non-stop action, plot twists and characters that are inspiring and credible. It's easy to get lost in any of TKH books. But don't take my word for it--read them for yourself! I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I love the Tara Harper books about the Wolves and wish there were more. Hopefully, Harper will find a way to extend the series or create a new series.
